In Eskişehir, the play staged by the mentally disabled under care with the support of EYGEV, "Muhterem Çadır Theater", was highly appreciated. The show, which was held at the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Theater and Opera Hall, gave the audience unforgettable moments.
Before and at the end of the play, an exhibition of the handicrafts of mentally disabled individuals was opened. The exhibition attracted great attention and visitors examined the original works of disabled artists and appreciated them. This event became an important platform where disabled people had the opportunity to exhibit their lives and talents intertwined with art.
The play, which draws attention to the fact that the disabled can be an active and productive part of society, attracted great attention not only from the audience but also from the actors. The disabled showed that they can take part in society and express themselves when given the opportunity.
At the end of the event, EYGEV President Serkan Ülkü congratulated the team that staged the play and especially the director Onur Birgi. Ülkü said, “We are proud to see that disabled individuals can also exist in the field of art and culture. Continuing such events will continue to create awareness in society.”
