"Social Problems and Social Work" Has Been Released!

EYGEV Advisory Board Member Dr. The work titled "Social Problems and Social Work" edited by Mehmet Başcillar was published.

In the work, pandemic, poverty, unemployment, migration, terrorism and war, child neglect and abuse, violence against women, crime, addiction, discrimination, climate change and environment, population aging, education and phenomena such as mental health are handled within the framework of universal and local reality and the values ​​of social work.

A “common systematic” is adopted in each part of the work. In each chapter, the related social problem is explained with its conceptual aspects; The current dimensions and reflections of the social problem, first in the world and then in Turkey, are included. Finally, in each chapter, the relationship between the relevant social problem and social work was examined within the framework of social work areas, practices and roles. It is aimed to rethink the narratives with evaluation questions, and to continue the learning adventure of the reader by crossing the borders with further reading suggestions. In addition, this work claims to be the leading source book for the “Social Problems” course taught in social work undergraduate programs in Turkey.
